First ER Visit

This is what the Lord says: "Do not be afraid! Don't be discouraged by this mighty army, for the battle is not yours it belongs to God."
2 CHRONICLES 20:15b

Do not be afraid.....do not be discouraged. This is Julie, Stacie's aunt writing tonight. In the middle of the night when your body is feeling the effects of the first chemo treatment and nausea takes over these are hard words to trust and believe. However, this battle certainly is God's and Stacie is standing in faith and has such a positive attitude. The nurse in the ER at 5 am even said "I can't believe you can give us a smile as sick as you are".

Yes, unfortunately we had to make a trip to the emergency room after 2+ hours of extreme vomiting in the middle of the night. One hour I knew could be normal; two was too much so I called the on-call doctor who ordered us to the ER immediately. IV fluids and a new anti-nausea medication were her best friend and after a few hours Stacie looked like herself again. She ate a good breakfast and by 10 am we were taking a walk (not quite at her normal speedy pace) but none too slow despite the short (or long) night, depending on how you look at it.

Stacie said she feels so grateful for yet another day with no headaches - truly Praise God! And she continues to ask for the same prayer requests listed. We would ask that the new medication keep away the nausea and that she would get a good night's sleep. Tomorrow her friend Liz will be her caregiver - I wouldn't wish that anyone be here by themselves and it's amazing that there are some who are. We have enjoyed visiting with some of the families in the dining area; you just never know whose life you are going to encourage along the way.

Keep the cards and prayers coming - she looks in the mailbox every time she walks by! JULIE

I'm so glad to hear you have noticed improvemen!I know how scarry all those machines, radiation,& chimo can be. It may seem strange for me to say this but, I think of them as Gods intruments, they are my friends, as without them I am mereley doomed. Keep the faith; as you always do. It's very compforting to know the power in prayer & that you have hundreds of people praying for you dialy! FYI; I have a 16 x 24 framed picture of Proverbs 3:5-6 on my familyroom wall, It's the best artwork I could find! I love you & am praying for your compfort...for your pain, nausea, and fear to go away! When the nausea meds finally get it under controll, you will get to know what foods triger it. They gave me a steriod w/my chimo that stopped the nausea, you may ask about that. I put on some poundage(ha,ha)but I"m just as fiesty as ever. Love you, Suzanne

We continue to pray for you Stacie. I was reading your stuff to Allison tonight and she wanted to make you a card. We will put it in the mail tomorrow. I hope you don't mind but I sent a link to your site to some of my family and friends as well as old JDH folks. Suffice it to say you have been added to about a dozen various churches prayer requests! Take care and read some insurance magazine. That will put you right to sleep=). We love you.
