Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, now that you have tasted that the LORD is good. 1 Peter 2:2-3
Forgive me, blog addicts, for not posting yesterday. : ) Travel days get kind of long and by the time I get home, I'm ready for a rest. I can't believe I've finished week 4 already!!!! It's incredible how fast it's been going. I have one more full week and then I'll have to return the following Monday for my 25th day. This coming Monday I will also have my 2nd MRI. I've maybe mentioned this before, but they don't expect to see instant results. The MRI is mainly for them to monitor and also to see if they need to increase the dose and duration.
I've still been experiencing some nausea/GI issues the past few days. I met with my doctor yesterday and they increased my meds just a bit so hopefully that will work. I've also noticed a huge change in my taste buds the last couple days. This is a common side effect of the radiation and they say it could last up to 6-12 months following treatment. The main difference is that anything remotely sweet (yogurt) or acidic (pasta sauce), tastes horrible. Two and a half years ago, when we first found out about the tumor, I started really paying attention to food and my body - mainly noticing that there were certain foods that caused instant headaches for me. The main thing is sugar - from foods like desserts, not sugar in fruit. So to keep from getting headaches, I've tried my best to stay away from sugary foods. And this past month, I've especially avoided all desserts. But this new change in tastes, adds yet another dynamic to planning meals, grocery shopping, eating out.
Just enjoying the rest of the weekend - and excited my sister's bringing my niece and nephew this afternoon to visit!!!! I'll be back on here Monday, have a great weekend and thank for the prayers!!

Stac- Just a quick verse that hit me anew as I was reading. I was praying it for my boys and then also thought of you. "But for you who revere my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings. And you will go out and leap like calves released from the stall." Malachi 4:2 Love,Rachel
